Did you just get your first iPhone or are you allready a happy iPhone user? Than we have BIG news for you! The first edition of AppEvent in January 2010 was such a huge succes so we decided that there had to be a second editon. The good news for you is that there will be a FREE App every day in August. Just like the first edition of AppEvent, the Apps are from Dutch or Belgian developers. It is not only for iPhone users but iPad owners also can join the free AppEvent party.
The concept
AppEvent is a project with a mission! What is our goal? To bring Apps from Dutch and Belgian developers to the spotlight. Why? Because there are more than 300.000 Apps in Apple’s App Store and it is hard for developers to get there App in the picture of App users. And Dutch, Belgian and global iPhone and iPad users are not allways aware of the variety of Apps from the lowlands, Belgium and The Netherlands.
So AppEvent made it there main goal to show off all these great Apps from the lowlands developers to Dutch, Belgian and global iPhone and iPad users, not only by bringing them to the spotlight but iPhone and iPad users can download them for free. Every day a new app and that for 31 days long.
Developers, just like the users, of the Apps were very happy with the succes of the first edition of AppEvent that they were eager to give there apps away for free one day. The Apps that will be downloadable for free are all great apps, some of them not very known and some are big hits. More information will come on August first, the day AppEvent will kick-off.
What is new
Last month a lot of things changed on the AppEvent website. Now it is possible to get e-mails of reactions from other readers on topics where you left a word. Just activate the button “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”, you can find the button under the reactions of the topic.
It is also possible to share “The free App of the day” easy on Twitter, Facebook and a lot more social network sites. You find the share-buttons right under every topic.
And finally we have a page called “Downloads”. Here you can find all kind of banners of AppEvent you can use on your own website. So if you have a warm heart for AppEvent and our mission please use them as much as you like. If you have a problem with the format of the banner please contact us. We wil send you a banner in the right format as soon as possible!
Being the first to hear the good news
The most important way to get the news first of “Free App a Day” is twitter, you can follow us at @AppEvent. Facebook users can also become a fan of the AppEvent fanpage. No fan of al these social network sites you might like RSS, for instance on the iPhone-App “Mobile RSS”. And even is that to much for you you can subscribe to our newsletter “Free App a Day”. So you have a every day update from AppEvent in your mailbox.
